Anglesey Routes

• National Cycle Route 8 - from Cardiff, the route goes through Llangaffo on the west side of the island

• National Cycle Route 5 - from Reading, the route goes along the northern side of the island, through Penmynydd to Valley and Holyhead

• Lon Las Cefni Linear Route - joins the two national routes together. Click here for more information on this family-friendly, traffic-free route.

• Lon Las Copr - the Copper Trail - (aka Route 566 on the National Cycle Network) - offers spectacular sea views, look for the harbour porpoises along the rocky coastline. Click here for more information on this route.

Conwy's Cycle Route Network

The National Cycle Network along the North Wales Coast (National Route 5) Links Rhyl, Kinmel Bay, Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Rhos on Sea, Llandudno and Conwy.

Linking Llandudno's West Shore to Deganwy and Conwy is the 'Conwy Estuary Trail' that provides stunning views of the Conwy river and the World Heritage Site of Conwy Castle as a backdrop. This route also provides a link to the RSPB Reserve in Llandudno Junction.

National Route 5 extends westwards from Conwy to the seaside towns of Penmaenmawr and Llandfairfechan. Continuing along this route will take you to the City of and Bangor.

Cycling in Denbighshire

Denbighshire has many cycling oppportunities, the Clwydian Range and Hiraethog pass through a landscape of outstanding beauty.  The MTB Marathon Series visits every year with around 1,300 mountain bikers rising to the challenge of the Clwydian Range hills. Privately owned Coed Llandegla is recognised as one of the best mountain bike centres in the UK, cycle hire and training are available at the centre.

Marsh Tracks is the latest place for cycling in Denbighshire with a 1.3km closed circuit road track and a national standard BMX track with challenging jumps and bends.  The circuit road track is a fantastic venue for walking, running and cycling, including disabled cycling. Children and adults can attend training courses and the tracks are available for hire. If you fancy a change from the bike, why not try your had at a Nordic walk session that is also available at Marsh Tracks.

Marsh Tracks is located on Route No 5 of the National Cycle Network which links Gronant, Prestatyn, Rhyl on a cycle route that runs along the north Wales coast, almost completely free of traffic it can be used to visit Brickfields Pond and Gronant Dunes Local Nature Reserves.
